Day 3 in Zagreb: Exploring the City and Sharing the Classroom

Our third day in Zagreb was a perfect combination of cultural discovery and educational exchange. The morning was dedicated to exploring the heart of the city, followed by an enriching afternoon at the local high school.

Discovering the City Centre and Upper Town

We started the day sightseeing in Zagreb’s city centre, enjoying its lively streets, charming architecture, and vibrant atmosphere. Later, we made our way to the Upper Town, the historic part of the city, where cobbled streets and beautiful views gave us a deeper sense of Zagreb’s character and history. Walking through this area felt like stepping back in time, and it was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the local culture.

Afternoon at the High School: A Day of Classes

In the afternoon, we visited the high school and had the chance to observe and participate in several classes.

Spanish with Ana

In the Spanish class with Ana, students reviewed key irregular verbs such as ir, ser, and tener, working with both present and past tenses. They also revised adverbs of time, reinforcing how to structure sentences more accurately. It was a very focused and productive session, with students actively participating and consolidating their knowledge.

Italian Class

We also attended an introductory Italian class where the teacher was working on colors with the students. The lesson began with a song featuring music by Jarabe de Palo and Modà, which included references to different colors. This creative approach immediately captured the students’ attention.

The teacher then used colors as a bridge to introduce vocabulary related to fruits and vegetables. The class was dynamic, interactive, and full of energy, making the learning process both engaging and enjoyable.

English Class

In the English lesson, students talked about their trip to London and worked on expanding their vocabulary, particularly verbs. They were given definitions and had to identify the correct verb that matched each one. It was a practical and stimulating way to reinforce their language skills while reflecting on their own travel experiences.

Sharing Impressions

At the end of the day, we spent time accompanying our students, exchanging impressions and discussing how we were finding the experience and the country. The overall feedback was very positive. Everyone agreed that the trip has been enriching, both academically and personally, and that Croatia—and Zagreb in particular—has left a wonderful impression on us.

Day three has shown us not only the beauty of the city but also the value of international collaboration and shared learning experiences. We are looking forward to what the next days will bring!
