NAIA´S JUNQUERA DIARY

11/11/25

On November 11th we started our Erasmus + month in Italy. We firstly arrived at Munich, Germany airport were we took the second flight to Bari, Italy. Once we arrived to Bari we realized where we were at and we were extremely excited to visit the city and the country in general, so as soon as we step foot on the hotel ( a really nice and cool hotel in Bari’s centre with that kind of south Italian style, chosen by our teachers) We went to explore the city and take some photos. We spend a couple of days there and to be honest it was a truly unique experience, and we both had a great time!
Couple of days later, we arrived at the town we were gonna stay for the whole month, Rionero in vulture, a pretty small town in Potenza Reggione. Along with our teachers we went to visit the town museum which to be honest wasn’t very interesting as the village itself hadn’t any special thing to do, but even tho it was a pretty normal town they were many many places around that where AMAZINGGG!!! For example; 23/11/2025 MATERA Matera is not just the oldest city in italy but it’s also one of the oldest city in all Europe! I had such a nice time there, as we were visiting the city we got time to take few cool photos , as I went with my host family, they were explaining me some interesting facts about the city while we were walking around.
30/11/25 CASTELMEZZANO This place was so lovely to visit as well , it is the only part of the Dolomites which is on the south of the country. It was impressive tbh, the houses were in the borderline between the top of the mountain and the land . We spent the whole day there, the weather was just perfect, even if it was November there were some days in which if the sun raised they were crazily warm temperatures, wich in some way I was thankful of! 😊😊😊
Then they where weekends where we just went around the town and meet with our “host sisters” group of friends, I had such a good time on those days, we ate pizza all the time and party!!!
07/11/25 SALERNO, COSTA D’AMALFI As the town where we were staying at was in the middle of the country we had the option of going either to one side or the other, so we went both; Bari and Costa d’amalfi. We expressed our families how much we would like to go to Salerno as neither of us had gone previously , so after insisting a bit they drive us there and it was beautiful!!! We arrived around 6 and the sunset was so perfect , It was one of my favorite places so far. We went to see the famous Salerno’s Christmas market. Even tho Italy is not a really Christmassy country the market was so precious, Salerno in general is! The coast it’s beautiful
Lastly on our last day we visited… NAPOLI!!!! 11/12/2026 Both our teachers and us visited the chaotic city of Naples, there’s a huge contrast, but it has its own vibe and that makes it unique, the streets are so different as in the rest of Italy, is a city with a lot of culture and what we will call “ typical Italian “ things🇮🇹🇮🇹
In general it was a great experience that I will 100% repeat! The thing I’m most grateful for is the improvement that I have had on my Italian, wich I’m super happy of!!! 🍕⭐️⭐
